COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM

More than just glasses and contact lenses!

We take pride in our comprehensive vision and eye health evaluations. Through state-of-the art computerized testing, pretesting by our c medical assistants, and careful examination by our doctors, we assess our patient s visual system and determine what type of visual correction is best recommended for each individual patient. Visual correction may include glasses, contacts, laser vision correction, or corneal refractive therapy. Further evaluation continues with what we feels to be the most important part of the examination, the eye health evaluation. Glaucoma testing, dilated fundus examination, and diagnostic retinal imaging is performed to evaluate the health of the eye. Common systemic conditions detected on a routine eye examination include:

  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Impending stroke and heart attack
  • Neurologic Disease including Multiple Sclerosis and Brain Tumors
  • Autoimmune disease including systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Sjogren syndrome

As doctors we are the primary gatekeepers for many of the patients, and work very closely with area physicians and sub-specialists to ensure complete care for all patients.

CONTACT LENS FITTING AND CORNEAL EVALUATION

We fit regular and specialty contact lenses to change how you see the world. Don t think you are a candidate for contact lenses? He fits difficult prescriptions and special eyes, so be sure to ask at your next appointment if contact lenses are right for you!

Soft Lenses - These lenses are comfortable to wear and must be replaced monthly, weekly or daily depending on the type you choose. Soft lenses are often recommended for sports because they fit closer to the eye and are more difficult to dislodge. They can provide correction for most prescriptions including astigmatism. Today, with the introduction of newer materials like silicone hydrogels, which allow more oxygen to the eye, patients find it easier than ever to wear soft lenses comfortably.

Gas-Permeable (GP) Lenses - Made of moderately flexible plastics, GP lenses offer sharp vision and correct most vision problems. They are more durable than soft contact lenses and can be easier to handle and care for but require a longer adaptation period and consistent wear to maintain adaptation.

Multifocal Lenses - In both soft and GP designs, multifocal lenses offer patients both distance and near vision correction just like a pair of bifocal glasses.

Color Contact Lenses - Enhance your eye color or even change it completely. Colored contact lenses are fun and come in a variety of colors for both light and dark eyes.

Silicone Hydrogels - Silicone hydrogels are soft contact lenses that have high oxygen permeability and are comparable to GP lenses.

DRY EYE THERAPY

We strive for perfection in visual clarity and comfort. Dry eye is one of the most common and bothersome conditions we encounter. Dry eye is abnormal; patients should not be forced to accept this condition as a normal part of life. Dry eye syndrome is one of the most common eye conditions encountered by eye care practitioners and can often be the first sign of other medical conditions. We offer the latest in dry eye management technology including:

  • Punctal occlusion
  • Nutritional therapy
  • Medical therapy including anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive therapy, and treatment with autologous serum
  • Specialty dry eye contact lenses including daily disposable contact lenses

LASIK AND CATARACT EVALUATIONS
  • LASIK EVALUATIONS - Wondering if laser vision correction is right for you? We will evaluate your eyes and determine if you are a good candidate for laser correction. He will help you find the best surgeon for your needs and will help provide the pre and post-op care right in his office.
  • CATARACT EYE SURGERY - If your doctor determines that you have a cataract that requires surgical removal he will refer you to the best surgeon for your needs and will help provide the pre and post-op care right in his office.

Paragon C R T
(Corneal Refractive Therapy
)
Corneal Refractive Therapy is a non-surgical process clinically developed to reshape the cornea while you sleep. The result is the temporary correction of myopia with or without moderate astigmatism.

Paragon CRT is the first therapeutic lens design approved by the FDA for overnight contact lens Corneal Refractive Therapy for the temporary reduction of myopia.

Similar in appearance to standard contact lenses, Paragon CRT therapeutic lenses gently reshape the corneal surface during sleep and provide clear, natural vision when the lenses are removed upon waking.

Because Paragon CRT offers freedom from glasses and the hassle of wearing contact lenses during the day, this leading-edge technology can enhance the lifestyle of those requiring vision correction. Active individuals can freely participate in sports without the interference of glasses or bother of contacts. Eye irritation or dryness, sometimes associated with contact lens wear due to outside dust and pollutants, is eliminated.

Now you can be free of daytime contact lenses and glasses during your daily activities without undergoing surgery and enjoy great vision! Recent clinical research combined with the latest corneal surface mapping technology, computerized manufacturing and space age oxygen-breathing materials have brought new science to corneal reshaping.
